All pleasure and pain are one’s own mind

Whatever pleasure and pain appear,
if you do not understand that it appears as your own [mind],
you remain an outsider to this teaching.
Thus, someone who wishes [to obtain] benefit and happiness,
makes efforts in the purification of his own mind!
